what people should know about me

Being an American and white are two different things to me. – America is a melting pot where different groups of people have immigrated to be in a place that is better for them and to become better people by keeping their roots very much in tact. – To me “whites” have done the same, but have sort of… I guess… claimed their right to be that dominant society that we always talk about in class, and back then, have claimed the America to be theirs… – Being raised by a white father and growing up in a melting pot as well, I guess I’ve become colorblind and even naive to the fact that minorities have/are still being mistreated and made unequal to this dominant society.
